Unlimited beliefs and horizons formed the inspiration to the songs I wrote for Mundane. Twelve songs that each express one of the many things we deal with in life but I enjoyed looking at them from an extreme perspective. Mundane craziness leading you through cyberspace past climate strikes all the way to the true meaning of art and love.

I was very lucky to work with beautiful people such as Neil Fraser, Simon Casier, Steven Van Gelder and Tom Barbier. The album was produced and mixed by Staf Verbeeck at Stiff Studio and mastered by Frederik Dejongh at Jerboa Mastering with beautiful artwork by Guy Kokken & Herman Houbrechts (Beeldzorg).

Stalkers was the second single to be released and also happens to be the second song on the album. I wrote the song after watching Stalker by filmmaker Tarkovsky and a documentary on real stalkers on their way to Pripyat. The beat of the drums and repetitive vocals emphasize the determination of stalkers and like-minded people moving forward to find a different world. The music video made by Jochem Baelus illustrates Stalkers' post-apocalyptic journey perfectly with black and white high-contrast filmic scenes that also depict our current status quo.

I really enjoyed writing and recording this song. Loneliness finds most of us at some point, especially now. I wanted to express this feeling and our coping mechanisms and share some love at the same time for dark days ahead. We're all in this together, let's try to remember. ❤️

‘Demons’ was the start of my solo project. I wanted to create and play everything myself without being influenced by other people.
